EXPERIENCE | DEGREES | CERTIFICATIONS

Counseling was not my first career choice but I am confident it will be my final choice.  I have ten years of experience as an elementary classroom teacher.  I became aware of the extreme need for mental health services when a student in my class was unable to regulate his emotions and hit me with his book bag. His mother cried at the suspension because she had been looking for a therapist to help him for weeks with no luck.  I knew then that I wanted to help others suffering from their mental health.  Additionally, I have served others as a paralegal and small business owner.  My wide variety of career experiences has equipped me with life experiences and an ability to understand those experiencing difficulties in their lives. 

In addition to my professional training, I have three grown daughters so I understand the difficulties and challenges parenting can be.  I have personal experience with divorce, remarriage, and blending families. Through all of this, I have learned the importance of taking care of myself before I can take care of others!
